SUBSTATION EARTH LEADS
Product Description
P&B Weir Electrical Ltd supply Substation Earthing Leads with Aluflex cable for all earthing applications, all of our 150sqmm terminations are embossed with our name to ensure the highest quality. Aluflex earthing leads (ESI-C1-2T1) are produced from multi-stranded, commercially pure aluminium with an extruded pvc sheath to protect the cable from damage.
The flexible aluminum earth leads come with tested and approved compression terminations and support sleeves which are used for connecting a line end clamp and an earth end clamp. The flexible conductor is of a circular cross section made up of commercially pure aluminium wires, giving a nominal section area of 150sq.mm.
Leads are also available in blue and green, solid, opaque or semi-transparent coloured pvc sheaths for special applications on request.
Leads for Field Earths generally use two types of terminations. One end is PB150T which is suitable for the CE20 Clamp to connect to the Substation Earth Tape, whereas the other is a standard PB50 Palm Termination with a 13.5mm hole. Where a CE20 Earth End clamp is not fitted one end a lead having two PB50 palm terminations may be used.
Portable Primary Earth Leads
Portable Primary Earth leads following the ENA Technical Specification 41-21, 150 sq.mm Aluflex with clear pvc sheathing. They are fitted with PB150T terminations and stress relieving springs to reduce flexing, which would otherwise create work hardening of the cable between the terminations and the cable junction.
The Aluflex Leads are carefully manufactured and tested rigorously throughout the manufacturing process to ensure quality and performance. Terminations are made from specially milled and certified material, and precision machined.

Aluflex Leads are designed to meet specific requirements of ENA technical specification 41/21
For use in Substations, 150EL is always used as a primary lead. 50EL Arctic Orange is used for Field Equipment Earths, and for the control of impressed voltages.
DSSB-SLE-PEE-150EL is suitable for the CE20 clamp. DSSB-SLE-PEE-50EL is a standards for other clamps.

PBwel earth leads are produced from multi-stranded, commercially pure aluminium with an extruded pvc sheath, either in clear or opaque ‘arctic’ grade to protect the cable from damage. PBwel can supply Aluflex leads in any length required, in a range of sizes including 50sqmm, 70sqmm, 95sqmm, 120sqmm and 150sqmm. Suits the requirements of ENA TS 41-21 as well as for export markets.
Standard Distribution Line Earthing kits utilise 50sqmm and 120sqmm Aluflex leads, 120sqmm is used for the phase leads, and the down lead is generally 50sqmm. Leads are carefully assembled at our factory and tested rigorously throughout the manufacturing process to ensure quality and performance.
Earth leads can also be provided from flexible multi-stranded copper 25, 35, 50, 70 and 95 sq.mm as an alternative to aluminium leads. PBwel also has available captive Velcro fasteners for cable storage in three lengths: 220mm, 350mm and 500mm.
